Information
Today, 14 years after the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power station incident that occurred in the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 2011, the region is at a pivotal point in its ongoing recovery. Fukushima's revitalization continues to progress dynamically as it becomes a new hub for innovation.
The Fukushima Institute for Research, Education, and Innovation (F-REI) launched in April 2023 is playing a key role in driving Japanese scientific and technological momentum, as well as industrial competitiveness. It’s also the core foundation for creative reconstruction based on Fukushima’s hopes and dreams.
Today we’re showcasing examples of both cutting-edge research and human resource development initiatives led by F-REI, while also highlighting the next-generation industrial facilities and research centers in Fukushima leading the way.
Watch as young entrepreneurs gather at the incubation center, tackling diverse challenges with dreams of creative reconstruction that start in Fukushima and inspire the world.
