Triathlons are considered one of the ultimate tests in sports. JIB is broadcasting a 30-minute digest of the ITU World Triathlon Yokohama (Elite Women and Elite Men competitions), held on May 17, 2014.
The World Triathlon Series has become one of the port city’s biggest annual events. Top competitors see it as one of the major international contests, eclipsed in importance perhaps only by the Olympics.
The route is centered around Yamashita Park, in the heart of the city. It includes swimming (1.5 km), cycling (40 km), and running (10 km), 51.5 km in all.
