Timeless Horizons of Setonaikai

Journeys in Japan’s National Parks

Aired: Aug 08, 2025 (UTC)

Information

Japan is home to 35 national parks. This time, we will visit Setonaikai National Park, which was designated as one of Japan's first national parks in 1934.
Located in western Japan, this park spans three landmasses with the calm Seto Inland Sea at its center. Since ancient times, this region has flourished as a key route for maritime transportation, giving rise to a distinctive local culture.
In this program, two travelers set off from different parts of the Seto Inland Sea, —one from Okayama Prefecture in the east, and the other from Hiroshima Prefecture in the west.
They explore the natural beauty and cultural richness of Setonaikai National Park, while enjoying activities such as a boat cruise and cycling.
A place where tradition and modernity intersect—on both the east and the west. Let’s discover the unique charms of Setonaikai National Park.
