Three foreigners⁠—a lawyer, a photographer, and a tour guide—embark on a journey to explore Fukushima Prefecture and the integral role water has played in shaping its history, culture, and people. At the same time, they learn about the challenges faced by locals after the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, and how the people were essential to Fukushima’s road to recovery. This program features Fukushima’s safe and delicious local produce as well as the charms and appeal of the area. In this episode, our travelers visit a vegetable farm that produces high-end crops, a South Korean woman whose restaurant focuses on building relations between her home and adopted countries, and a thriving fish market at one of Fukushima’s busiest harbors.
