Information
Yaese, Okinawa, in southern Japan, is known for its fertile soil and a distinctive kind of bell pepper that’s larger and sweeter than other varieties. An increasing number of younger farmers are establishing themselves there, including one enterprising young couple who left the corporate world after their children were born. Now, the peppers they grow and the methods they use are providing inspiration for other local farmers, both young and old.
