Taking International Sporting Events to New Heights

Volleyball Nations League 2024 Fukuoka

Aired: Oct 04, 2024 (UTC)

Information

In June 2024, the Volleyball Nations League was held in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture. The Federation Internationale de Volleyball/ Volleyball World teamed up with Fukuoka Prefecture, a proponent of One Health, and took new steps to ensure the positive impact of large-scale sporting events while reducing the environmental load of the events. These included the installation of temporary venues and the reduction of transportation, food, and waste.
The organizers also created opportunities for children to interact with the players in the hopes of inspiring a new generation of athletes and fans.
This program covers these initiatives, their impact, and what was left behind as a legacy.
