A company operating a restaurant chain that has set its own safety standards for the rice it uses to promote biodiversity in rice fields.
An NPO organization that implements initiatives in preservation and environmental education by gathering people from all walks of life to survey the history and culture behind the “satoyama” ecosystems of villages.
An organization that has strived over 20 years to scientifically monitor nature with the cooperation of researchers, local citizens and students at a World Heritage Site.
An elementary school that has continued environmental education, including bird watching by the students, for 38 years, eventually succeeding in getting the local community involved.
A stationery manufacturer that has cooperated with the local government and companies to preserve the nature that has propped up local culture, as well as find a new way to make effective use of it, turning the initiative into a business.
This program focuses on the sincere efforts of the five organizations that won the 6th Japan Awards for Biodiversity. It is an environmental documentary that highlights the potential for local activities to spread globally and extend into the future.
