In this program, our reporter Maxwell Powers visits Akita, Miyagi, and Iwate prefectures with highlights including Akita’s "Yuki no Bijin" sake, revived through community bonds after the 2023 floods, Miyagi’s oyster industry, which innovated and recovered following the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, and Iwate’s traditional "Wanko Soba” noodles, whose popularity skyrocketed with tourists looking forward to the end of the pandemic, and beyond.
