The folk dancers of Sanriku in northern Japan are working to revive and share the region’s diverse and elaborate folk performing arts.
Volunteer activities in response to the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011 sparked initiatives to communicate their appeal to the world.
We meet the trailblazers who are bringing discontinued performing arts back to life and putting a new spring in their steps.
