Information

Asakusa is known worldwide as one of Tokyo’s top sightseeing spots. Once called “Japan’s top entertainment district,” the country’s first movie theater was built here in the early twentieth century. However, there was a time following the Second World War when it struggled to stay relevant. What put it back in lights was the initiative of local residents who are now looking to increase the area’s night entertainment options.
