Revitalizing the Old Castle Town of Tamba Sasayama

Trailblazers

Information

At the heart of Tamba Sasayama City is a historical castle town. Visitors come to savor its autumn delights and stroll streets lined with traditional houses.
Once facing the threat of depopulation, the town was revitalized by the opening of a hotel that turned empty old houses into guest rooms and the subsequent opening of restaurants and shops by enterprising individuals.
