Funeral planner Kasai Tomoko aims to provide the ultimate send-off with her space burial service.
With her service, a portion of a person’s cremated remains are placed in a special container and sent into space on SpaceX rockets. The satellites circle Earth before burning up in its atmosphere like shooting stars.
The idea for this service stemmed from a childhood conversation with her mother, who told her that people who passed away became stars and watched over their loved ones. We follow Kasai as she explores a new frontier!
