Entrepreneur Washizaki Issei started the Japan Winter League to “shine a light on hidden talent.” Held in Okinawa during the offseason, it’s rapidly gaining prominence within the international baseball community.
The winter league provides a platform for players to showcase their skills in front of scouts and focuses on skill development utilizing comprehensive player data and input from professional coaches.
The third and most recent round received sixty Japanese and eighty-four foreign players. We follow the Japan Winter League to see how it’s changing baseball in Japan!
