Assisting Africa Through Business
Information
We follow two Japanese women entrepreneurs who are using the experience and connections they gained as overseas cooperation volunteers to build businesses that solve social issues in developing countries.
Tsuboi Aya, who was dispatched to Uganda, developed a simple yet effective fee collection system for wells. It solves the water supply issue and provides access to clean water.
Nakamoto Chizu, who was also stationed in Uganda, founded a Japanese brand that features handicrafts using vibrant African prints.
The brand’s workshop in Uganda provides employment and job training to many single mothers and displaced persons.
